Juvenile Critically Injured in Hit and Run Crash on Cleveland Avenue, Columbus
COLUMBUS, OH — A juvenile is in critical condition following a hit and run accident that occurred Saturday evening, according to Columbus police.
The incident happened shortly before 5:30 p.m. near Cleveland Avenue and Windsor Avenue, where a white sedan traveling southbound on Cleveland Avenue reportedly struck the young pedestrian. Police stated that the traffic light was green at the time of the collision.
The juvenile, whose age has not been released, was immediately taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Authorities said the white sedan fled the scene after the crash and is believed to have damage on the passenger side, including a broken side mirror and cracked windshield. Investigators are urging anyone with information about the vehicle or the driver to contact Columbus Police at 614-645-4767.
As the investigation continues, police are working to locate the driver responsible for the hit and run.
