Pickerington City Council Expands: Major Housing Development Planned After Land Annexation
Pickerington is growing! The city is set to expand its borders as officials move forward with a significant annexation, paving the way for new housing north of Refugee Road.
City Approves 151.9-Acre Annexation for Future Housing
In a unanimous decision, Pickerington City Council approved the annexation of 151.9 acres from Violet Township during a recent meeting. This move follows approval from the Fairfield County Board of Commissioners on January 7, marking a major step toward residential expansion.
Where is the New Development Happening?
The newly annexed land is strategically located:
- West – Bordered by Milnor Road
- East – Bordered by Ault Road
- South – Near an existing subdivision, Pickerington High School North, and Lakeview Junior High
What’s Coming?
While specific development plans are still in the works, early proposals suggest that the land will be transformed into a single-family housing community over the next 10+ years.
This expansion aligns with Pickerington’s growth strategy, addressing increasing housing demands and strengthening the local economy. As more families and professionals seek homes in the area, this development could further enhance Pickerington’s appeal as a top suburban destination.
