President Trump Signs the Spending Bill to Reopen Government

After more than six weeks of halted operations, President Donald Trump has officially signed the federal spending bill, reopening the U.S. government and ending the Democrat-led shutdown.


With the president’s signature, the government is now fully operational, and federal employees will receive back pay for the period affected. The bill funds government operations through January 30, 2026, giving lawmakers time to negotiate long-term solutions.
