
Costco Recalls Nearly 1 Million Bottles of Kirkland Wine Over Safety Concerns
Costco has announced a major wine recall, pulling nearly one million bottles of Kirkland Signature Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG from store shelves after reports of bottles shattering unexpectedly, which caused at least one laceration injury, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
The affected bottles were sold between April 2025 and August 2025 at Costco stores in 12 states, including Ohio, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Each bottle retailed for about $8.
Consumers are strongly urged to stop using the wine immediately and avoid opening any bottles from the recalled batch.

In total, about 941,000 bottles are impacted by this recall, marking one of the largest wine recalls Costco has faced in recent years.
