Man Dead Following Early Morning Shooting Near Ohio Statehouse in Downtown Columbus
A man has died after an overnight shooting in Downtown Columbus early Friday morning near the Ohio Statehouse.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, officers responded to the scene on North High Street near East Broad Street around 2:57 a.m. after receiving reports of gunfire.
The victim was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he later died. Police are currently searching for a possible suspect.
As investigations continue, North High Street remains closed between East Gay Street and East Broad Street. No additional details have been released at this time.
