A pedestrian was killed Monday night after being hit by a vehicle while using a marked crosswalk in northeast Columbus.
Columbus police say the incident happened around 10:15 p.m. at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and Eddystone Avenue in the North Linden area. The victim was crossing the street when a vehicle traveling southbound on Cleveland Avenue struck them.

Authorities report the driver did not stop and fled the scene. The pedestrian was pronounced dead shortly after emergency crews arrived.
The Columbus Police Accident Investigation Unit is handling the case, and the investigation remains ongoing. Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information to contact the Columbus Division of Police or Central Ohio Crime Stoppers.
