One Driver Killed Another Injured in Southeast Columbus Head-On Collision

Columbus, Ohio – Columbus police are investigating a deadly two-vehicle crash that occurred Thursday afternoon on the city’s Southeast Side.

According to the Accident Investigation Unit, the crash happened around 4:38 p.m. on October 24 along East Innis Avenue, just east of Kelsey Avenue. A westbound Honda Civic collided “slightly head-on” with an eastbound Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck.

Both drivers were rushed to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in Downtown Columbus. Authorities confirmed that the Honda Civic driver later died from their injuries, while the Chevy driver remains hospitalized in stable condition. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

This marks the second fatal crash in Columbus in two days. On October 22, another motorist was killed in a separate incident near Easton, after being struck by a vehicle while standing between two cars.
