The fire broke out just after 1 a.m. at a home on East 5th Avenue, near Madison Avenue in downtown Lancaster. Lancaster Fire Chief Slade Schultz reported that firefighters faced heavy smoke and flames upon arrival, leading to the incident being classified as a two-alarm blaze.
Multiple fire units from surrounding companies were called in to assist due to the intensity of the fire. Chief Schultz confirmed that two adults and one child died in the blaze, while two othersโa child and an adult were rescued and taken for treatment. Their current conditions have not been disclosed.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but the home was heavily damaged and appears nearly destroyed. Authorities continue to assess the scene, and more details are expected as the investigation progresses.
