President Donald Trump announced Monday that White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles has been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer.

Trump shared the news in a post on Truth Social, saying Wiles has decided to begin treatment immediately. The president said her doctors are optimistic about her recovery.

โ€œShe has a fantastic medical team, and her prognosis is excellent,โ€ Trump wrote, adding that Wiles is expected to continue working from the White House during her treatment.

Trump described Wiles as one of his closest advisers and a key figure in his administration. He also said that he and Melania Trump are supporting her as she begins treatment.

Shortly after the announcement, Wiles appeared at a meeting of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts board held in the White House East Room.

Several senior officials also expressed support following the news. JD Vance, the U.S. vice president, said his family is praying for Wiles, while White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt praised her leadership and character.

Wiles is widely considered one of Trumpโ€™s most trusted political advisers and played a major role in his 2024 presidential election victory. Despite her influence, she is known for maintaining a relatively low public profile.
