Early Voting Guide for Central Ohio: Where and How to Vote in Franklin, Delaware, and Licking Counties

As the 2025 November election nears, central Ohio residents are preparing to cast their votes in several important local races. While the presidential and gubernatorial elections are not on this year’s ballot, Columbus-area voters will decide on school district levies, a Franklin County mental health levy, a Columbus City Council seat, and positions on the Columbus Board of Education.

Early voting begins October 7, 2025, across Franklin, Delaware, and Licking counties. Here’s what you need to know about how to vote early, where to go, and what identification to bring.


Early Voting in Franklin County

  • Location: Franklin County Board of Elections, 1700 Morse Road, Columbus.
  • Voting Period: October 7 – November 2.
  • Hours:
    • Oct. 7–24: 8 a.m.–5 p.m. (Closed Oct. 13)
    • Oct. 27–31: 7:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
    • Oct. 28: 7:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m.
    • Nov. 1: 8 a.m.–4 p.m.
    • Nov. 2: 1 p.m.–5 p.m.

Absentee ballots may be requested until October 28 and returned via drop box or mail.


Early Voting in Licking County

  • Location: Licking County Board of Elections, 20 S. Second St., Newark.
  • Voting Period: October 7 – November 2.
  • Hours:
    • Oct. 7–24: 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
    • Oct. 27–31: 7:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
    • Oct. 28: 7:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m.
    • Nov. 1: 8 a.m.–4 p.m.
    • Nov. 2: 1 p.m.–5 p.m.

Early Voting in Delaware County

  • Location: Delaware County Board of Elections, 2079 U.S. Highway 23 North.
  • Voting Period: October 7 – November 2.
  • Hours:
    • Oct. 7–24: 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
    • Oct. 27–31: 7:30 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
    • Oct. 28: 7:30 a.m.–8:30 p.m.
    • Nov. 1: 8 a.m.–4 p.m.
    • Nov. 2: 1 p.m.–5 p.m.

What You Need to Vote Early

Voters must show one valid photo ID:

  • Ohio driver’s license or state ID
  • U.S. passport or passport card
  • U.S. military ID, Ohio National Guard ID, or Veterans Affairs ID

IDs must be unexpired, though those showing a previous address are acceptable if the voter’s current address is registered with their county election board.
