The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has broadened its statewide inquiry into spring standardized testing results after identifying testing anomalies at 52 additional school buildings across Ohio.

The state investigation originally launched in July 2026 after Columbus City Schools in Columbus, Ohio, self-reported testing irregularities at two of its high school buildings. Following that report, a detailed review conducted by the state’s testing vendor uncovered additional anomalies at dozens of other sites that officials determined warrant further examination.

State education officials have not released details regarding the specific nature of the testing anomalies, and the probe remains ongoing.

The list of newly flagged sites encompasses both traditional public school districts and public community schools in multiple regions. In Franklin County, several local public community schools were identified in the state release, including Focus Learning Academy of Central Columbus, South Scioto Academy, Performance Academy Eastland, Northland Preparatory and Fitness Academy, Columbus Performance Academy, Columbus Preparatory and Fitness Academy, Renaissance Academy, South Columbus Preparatory Academy at Southfield, and Whitehall Preparatory and Fitness Academy.

Traditional public school districts flagged in other parts of the state include the Newark City School District in Licking County, the Cleveland Metropolitan School District in Cuyahoga County, the Cincinnati Public School District in Hamilton County, and the Steubenville City School District in Jefferson County, along with various other public community schools.

State education authorities have not provided a timeline for when the review will conclude or what specific measures may be taken once the inquiry is complete.
