Columbus Zoo Offers Free Admission to Federal Employees
COLUMBUS, OH — As the federal government shutdown stretches on, the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is stepping up to support federal employees and their families by offering free admission and parking throughout the first three weeks of November.
Starting November 1 through November 20, federal workers can visit the zoo free of charge and bring up to five guests with them for a day of fun and relaxation.
“While Congress works things out, we want to offer a destination to unwind,” the zoo shared in its announcement on social media.
Guests will also have the opportunity to see the zoo’s newest attraction — a newborn Asian elephant calf, which has quickly become a visitor favorite.
Federal employees simply need to present a valid federal ID at the zoo’s parking booth or ticket window to receive complimentary entry for themselves and their guests.
The Columbus Zoo’s initiative aims to provide a small moment of relief and enjoyment to families affected by the ongoing shutdown, giving them a chance to reconnect with nature and wildlife during uncertain times.
