Elon Musk Supports Vivek Ramaswamy’s Ohio Governor PAC

COLUMBUS, Ohio โ€” Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has contributed $5 million to a political action committee supporting Republican gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, providing a significant financial boost to the former presidential candidate’s campaign for Ohio governor.

Campaign finance records released on July 15 show Musk made the donation to Victors Not Victims (V-PAC) on May 8, more than a year after Ramaswamy stepped away from the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) initiative to focus on his gubernatorial campaign.

Musk Reaffirms Support for Ramaswamy

Following the 2024 presidential election, President Donald Trump appointed Musk and Ramaswamy to jointly lead the Department of Government Efficiency, commonly known as DOGE. However, Ramaswamy exited the initiative shortly afterward to pursue Ohio’s highest office, amid reports of disagreements between the two leaders.

Despite those reports, Musk publicly endorsed Ramaswamy’s candidacy early in the race. In a post on X dated Feb. 24, 2025, Musk declared that Ramaswamy had his “full endorsement.” The recent $5 million contribution marks Musk’s first major financial investment in Ramaswamy’s gubernatorial campaign.

V-PAC Raises More Than $12 Million

The Super PAC, Victors Not Victims (V-PAC), reported raising approximately $12.2 million in donations between April and June.

Several high-profile business leaders also contributed during that period, including:

  • Veeam Software founder Ratmir Timashev
  • Billionaire investor Bill Ackman
  • Entrepreneur Ross Stevens

The committee’s largest overall donor remains Pennsylvania businessman Jeff Yass, a prominent advocate for school choice and private education initiatives, who has contributed $20 million to the PAC.

Ohio Governor’s Race Set for November

Ramaswamy, a Republican, is expected to face Democratic candidate Dr. Amy Acton, the former director of the Ohio Department of Health, in Ohio’s gubernatorial general election on Nov. 3.

With millions flowing into outside political groups, the race is shaping up to become one of Ohio’s most closely watched statewide contests, as candidates compete to succeed term-limited Republican Gov. Mike DeWine.
