Ohio House Bill 732 Could Bring Free Tourism Passes to Residents in 2026

A new proposal moving through the Ohio legislature could soon give residents and visitors a unique way to experience the best attractions, destinations, and activities across the Buckeye State.

Ohio House Bill 732 recently passed the Ohio House of Representatives and now heads to the Senate for further review. If approved and signed into law, the bill would establish the “Ohio, The Heart of It All” Pass Program, a statewide tourism initiative designed to encourage travel and exploration throughout Ohio.

The legislation is sponsored by Melanie Miller and supported by dozens of lawmakers, including Justin Pizzulli.

What Is the Ohio Tourism Pass Program?

Under House Bill 732, TourismOhio would oversee a new tourism pass available through participating partners across the state. The program aims to promote Ohio’s attractions, entertainment venues, cultural sites, and travel destinations.

If the bill becomes law, Ohio residents who apply in 2026 would receive the pass free of charge, with access continuing into 2027. Beginning in 2027, the tourism pass would become available for purchase through TourismOhio, although Ohio residents would still qualify for discounted pricing.

The bill would also establish a dedicated “‘Ohio, The Heart of It All’ Fund” within the state treasury to manage funds connected to the tourism pass program.

Lawmakers Say Program Could Boost Ohio Tourism

Supporters of the legislation believe the initiative could encourage both residents and tourists to explore more of what Ohio has to offer.

In a statement, Representative Pizzulli said Ohio’s wide variety of attractions makes it a destination with something for everyone.

“Ohio is so diverse and has something for everyone — residents and visitors alike,” Pizzulli said. “I hope this pass incentivizes us to get out, explore, and experience all that Ohio has to offer.”

If approved by the Senate, House Bill 732 could become one of Ohio’s newest tourism and economic development initiatives aimed at increasing travel and supporting local destinations statewide.
