
Driver Killed after Crashing into a Construction Site in Franklin Township
A tragic crash in Franklin Township, Columbus, Ohio, resulted in the death of a driver early Sunday morning, June 1.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the driver—alone in a 2013 Kia—was traveling north on North Hague Avenue near El Paso Drive when the vehicle drove through a road closure barrier and entered an active construction zone.
The car struck a gravel mound, launching into the air before hitting a stationary excavator and coming to rest on top of a deep trench dug for sewer system installation. First responders from the Columbus Fire Department pronounced the driver dead at the scene.
The driver’s identity has not been released, and the incident is still under investigation.
