Fisher Road Closed After Concrete Falls From I-70 Overpass in West Columbus
A section of Fisher Road in west Columbus was closed early Monday after pieces of concrete fell from an overpass along Interstate 70, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.
Transportation officials said two large chunks of concrete and additional debris landed in the center lanes of Fisher Road in the North Hilltop area.
Authorities received a report about the falling debris around 4:31 a.m. when a caller alerted officials that pieces of the bridge were dropping onto the roadway.

ODOT closed Fisher Road underneath the overpass as a precaution while crews assess the structure. Officials said the interstate above remains safe for drivers.
Engineers are expected to inspect the bridge to determine how serious the damage may be and whether repairs are needed.
