Iran’s President Vows to Expand Attacks on U.S.

Iran’s president Masoud Pezeshkian warned that Iran could expand attacks against U.S. targets across the Middle East as the conflict with Israel and the United States continues to escalate.

The comments came as U.S. and Israeli airstrikes hit military and energy sites in Tehran, sending smoke across parts of the Iranian capital.

Pezeshkian said Iran would respond strongly to continued military pressure. “When we are attacked, we have no choice but to respond,” he said in a statement Sunday.

Meanwhile, regional tensions grew after Bahrain accused Iran of striking a desalination plant, raising concerns that civilian infrastructure could increasingly be targeted in the conflict.

The fighting has also spread to Lebanon, where Israel has launched strikes against the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah.

Officials say the conflict has already caused heavy casualties and displaced hundreds of thousands of people across the region.
