1 Dead, 1 Injured after Downtown Columbus Suspected Robbery
A fatal shooting in downtown Columbus on Saturday has left 1 person dead and another injured, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred near the 300 block of South Grant Avenue, where emergency responders found two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to their injuries. The second victim was also hospitalized and is reported to be in stable condition.
Officials from the Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) said a bus driver, who was on a break at the time, encountered one of the victims after they boarded the bus seeking help. The individual reportedly told the driver they had been shot outside the bus. Medical personnel responded quickly and began treating the victim onboard.
