The company is currently securing local approvals to begin construction on the large manufacturing plant. The company has confirmed that the plant will be built on a 500-acre site in Pickaway County, just a few miles south of Columbus. “The manufacturing plant will produce a range of military vehicles and drones and is scheduled to open next year,” said Christian Brose a senior executive from Anduril. The news has been received positively by the leaders in Ohio.

Why Anduril Chose Ohio for Arsenal One’s State-of-the-Art Manufacturing Plant

Anduril selected Ohio for its new factory due to the state’s skilled workforce and favorable business environment. The plant, named Arsenal One, will integrate advanced software, infrastructure, and top-tier military intelligence expertise.

“This is the highest hiring initiative and payroll implementation Ohio has ever had and being selected as the preferred site for the manufacturing plan adds on the history of this state as home of aviation creation by the Wright Brothers and has an Airforce Base within Dayton,” said Gov. Mike DeWine.

“Arsenal-1 marks a significant advancement in the manufacturing of autonomous systems and weapons essential for national and allied security,” said Anduril Industries CEO Brian Schimpf. “We are prepared to begin construction and develop the capabilities that will enhance America’s industrial foundation and safeguard national security for the future,” he added.

Anduril positions the Ohio facility as central to its objective of modernizing the U.S. military’s arsenal by accelerating manufacturing processes with cutting-edge software and advanced production techniques.

A Game-Changer for Workforce Growth and Economic Development

The project intends to apply for a Job Creation Tax Credit from the Ohio Department of Development at an upcoming Tax Credit Authority meeting. It will also seek $70 million from the All-Ohio Future Fund during an upcoming Controlling Board meeting.

The All-Ohio Future Fund, launched by the DeWine-Husted Administration in coordination with the Ohio General Assembly, assists local communities in preparing sites and infrastructure to draw economic development projects.

To achieve its aggressive workforce expansion, Anduril will draw from Ohio’s third-largest manufacturing labor pool, collaborate with a vast network of universities, community colleges, and technical institutes across the state, and utilize Ohio’s Talent Acquisition Services.

This new project is part of Ohio’s growing “silicon corridor,” which includes notable investments such as Intel’s $20 billion chip production facility near Columbus and a $3.5 billion battery plant being developed by Honda and South Korea’s LG Energy Solution in Fayette County.

He highlighted several key issues facing District 7: Skyrocketing housing costs that continue to displace the working families that built and run this city, disparities in the education system, and the urgent need to address homelessness and addiction. “Inaction on these issues has hurt working families. It’s time for a City Councilor who will act with urgency to bring the resources we need,” he added.

When asked about his future plans, Said stated, “I’m dedicated to making District 7 safer, more equitable, and supportive of all families.” We need to prioritize affordable housing, transform our schools, and provide genuine support to our neighbors fighting homelessness and addiction.
