FBI Director Kash Patel Criticizes Agents Over Handling of Charlie Kirk Shooting Investigation

In a high-stakes Thursday morning virtual meeting, FBI Director Kash Patel reportedly expressed sharp frustration toward his subordinates regarding their management of the investigation into the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk.

More than 200 FBI agents participated in the online call, initially revealed by The New York Times. An insider described Patelโ€™s rebuke of what he called โ€œMickey Mouse operationsโ€ โ€” one of the few moments he refrained from using profanity during the tense discussion.

Patel, joined by FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, stressed the urgency of capturing Kirkโ€™s killer. Patel specifically reprimanded Salt Lake City agents for delaying the release of a photo of the suspect by 12 hours, according to The Times.

Both Patel and Bongino flew to Utah on Thursday to oversee the ongoing investigation firsthand.

On Friday, authorities arrested 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, the suspect in the shooting. Utah Governor Spencer Cox confirmed the arrest followed a tip from a family friend who reported Robinson had confessed or implied involvement in the incident to his relatives.

Charlie Kirk was shot at an event held at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. Patel acknowledged that the FBI initially took a suspect into custody on social media platform X the same day but later released him after questioning, a misstep that drew significant criticism.

Patelโ€™s handling of the investigation has been questioned by several MAGA supporters, raising doubts about his leadership capabilities at the FBI.

Conservative activist Chris Rufo criticized Patelโ€™s performance on X, writing, โ€œHe performed terribly in the last few days, and itโ€™s not clear whether he has the operational expertise to investigate, infiltrate, and disrupt violent movements threatening the peace in the U.S.โ€

Before joining the FBI, Patel worked as a federal prosecutor and served as chief of staff at the Department of Defense. His relatively limited law enforcement background has been a point of contention among some GOP officials.

Former Trump advisor Steve Bannon also expressed skepticism about the arrest, calling it โ€œnot great law enforcement workโ€ on his show Bannonโ€™s War Room. Bannon questioned Patelโ€™s decision to travel thousands of miles to Utah, interpreting the visit as largely symbolic.

Ohio State Buckeyes beats Bobcats 37 – 9

Columbus, Ohio โ€” The No. 1 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes extended their undefeated streak in the 2025 college football season with a commanding 37-9 victory over the Ohio Bobcats on Saturday night at Ohio Stadium.

Julian Sayin Shines with Three Touchdowns

Quarterback Julian Sayin led the Buckeyesโ€™ offense, throwing three touchdown passes to wide receivers Max Klare, Jeremiah Smith, and Carnell Tate. Sayinโ€™s precision and leadership helped Ohio State improve to 3-0 as they head into their first bye week of the season.

Defensive Battle Early, Explosive Finish

Both teamsโ€™ defenses held strong early on, making it a slow offensive start. Ohio State finally broke through late in the second quarter when Sayin found Klare for a 16-yard touchdown pass. The Bobcats responded early in the second half with quarterback Parker Navarro connecting on a 67-yard touchdown pass to Chase Hendricks, cutting the lead to four points.

However, Sayin and the Buckeyes answered with two long touchdown passes, a 47-yarder to Jeremiah Smith and a 49-yard score to Carnell Tate to secure the decisive win.

Jeremiah Smith Sets Record

Wide receiver Jeremiah Smith reached a major milestone in the game. On a 42-yard catch during the opening drive, Smith became the fastest Ohio State receiver ever to reach 1,500 career receiving yards in just 19 games, breaking the previous record held by Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

Whatโ€™s Next for the Buckeyes?

After the bye week, Ohio State will travel to face Washington in their Big Ten opener on September 27, 2025. Fans can expect the Buckeyes to continue their strong start as they aim for a championship season.

Suspect Arrested in Charlie Kirk Shooting: Tyler Robinson in Custody

Authorities in Utah have arrested Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old man suspected of fatally shooting Charlie Kirk, the co-founder of Turning Point USA, during a public event earlier this week.

Murder Suspect , Tyler Robinson

The announcement was made during a press conference Friday by Utah Governor Spencer Cox, who confirmed that Robinson is now in custody and has been booked into the Utah County Jail. The charges include aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm, and obstruction of justice.

“Ladies and gentlemen, we got him,” Gov. Cox stated.

According to state officials, a family friend contacted the Washington County Sheriffโ€™s Office on Thursday night, revealing that Robinson had confessed or strongly implied his involvement in the fatal incident. A family member later confirmed to investigators that Robinson had expressed strong political opinions and had discussed his disapproval of Charlie Kirkโ€™s scheduled appearance at Utah Valley University.

Investigators say forensic evidence has been collected and is currently under analysis at FBI laboratories in Quantico. FBI Director Kash Patel added that the bureau has received over 11,000 tips from the public in connection with the case.

This tragic event continues to draw nationwide attention, especially among conservative political circles and college communities across states like Ohio, where Kirk was scheduled to appear later this fall.

Flags to be flown at Half-Staff to Honor Charlie Kirk

Columbus, Ohio โ€“ Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has ordered the state and U.S. flags to be flown at half-staff across Ohio in honor of Charlie Kirk, the conservative commentator and founder of Turning Point USA, who was fatally shot during a live campus event in Utah.

The order, issued by the Governorโ€™s Office, states that flags on all public buildings and grounds will remain lowered from September 10 through 6 p.m. on September 14, paying tribute to Kirk’s life and legacy.

Kirk, 31, was killed while hosting his signature โ€œProve Me Wrongโ€ event at Utah Valley University, where he often invited students to publicly debate contentious social and political issues. The shooting has been widely condemned, with reactions from both ends of the political spectrum. In Ohio, lawmakers have expressed deep sorrow, labeling the incident as an attack on free speech and political discourse.

In addition to honoring Kirk, DeWineโ€™s proclamation also recognizes the upcoming anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks. On September 11, flags will again be flown at half-staff statewide. The Governor is encouraging all Ohioans to observe a moment of silence at 8:46 a.m., marking the time the first plane struck the World Trade Center in 2001.

This dual tribute reflects both a local and national moment of mourningโ€”recognizing the loss of an outspoken public figure and remembering the nearly 3,000 lives lost during one of Americaโ€™s darkest days.

Columbus, Ohio โ€“ In the wake of the shocking death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, J.D. Vance and other prominent Ohio leaders are publicly mourning the 31-year-old’s passing and condemning the political violence that ended his life.

Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was fatally shot on September 10 while hosting a live โ€œProve Me Wrongโ€ campus event at Utah Valley University. Video footage shows Kirk mid-discussion when a single gunshot rang out, prompting chaos and confusion among attendees.

Shortly after his death was confirmed, Vice President J.D. Vance, a close ally, posted a heartfelt tribute, saying, โ€œEternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.โ€ Vance had shared a photo of them together, asking for prayers.

Other Ohio officials joined in honoring Kirkโ€™s legacy and decrying political violence:

  • Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost described the video of the shooting as โ€œhorrific,โ€ stating: โ€œPolitical violence is unacceptable, criminal, and the truest threat to America.โ€
  • Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein called the incident an “assassination” and urged leaders to reject political extremism.
  • Senator Bernie Moreno reflected on a decade-long friendship with Kirk, noting, โ€œI knew from the first time we met that Charlie would change the country.โ€

Kirk had visited Ohio State University in Columbus in 2023, speaking alongside Candace Owens at a controversial event that sparked student protests. The topics included LGBTQ+ rights and the traditional nuclear familyโ€”hallmarks of Kirkโ€™s conservative message.

His passing has reignited national conversations on free speech, public safety, and the rising threat of politically motivated violence.

As Ohio mourns, leaders across the state are calling for unity, respect, and an end to the hostility that increasingly defines the American political landscape.

Coach Said Hassan Ahmed Won Boston city council candid for district 7

In one of the most competitive city council races in Boston this election season, Said โ€œCoachโ€ Ahmed has taken the lead for District 7 City Councillor, earning 1,155 votes (15.72%) with all precincts now fully reported.

The election, featuring 11 candidates, was a tight race, with Ahmed narrowly ahead of Miniard Culpepper (1,102 votes, 15.00%) and Mavrick Afonso (1,082 votes, 14.72%). This result is drawing national attention due to the strong community ties and inspiring background of the leading candidate.

Ahmed, a former U.S. national track athlete and longtime educator, immigrated to Bostonโ€™s Roxbury neighborhood as a refugee. He has since dedicated his life to youth mentorship, founding Boston United Track and Cross Country, the only free track program in the city and teaching in Boston Public Schools.

โ€œI was built by this community,โ€ Ahmed said. โ€œNow I am running to serve it to make District 7 safer, more equitable, and full of opportunity.โ€

Ohio Democrats Propose Bipartisan Congressional Map Ahead of Redistricting Deadline

Columbus, Ohio – In a pivotal move to comply with Ohioโ€™s 2018 constitutional amendment on redistricting, Democratic lawmakers are reaching across party lines to introduce what they call the fairest congressional map in recent history.

Ohio Senate Minority Leader Sen. Nickie Antonio (D-Lakewood) emphasized the importance of honoring voters’ wishes:

“Ohioans demanded fair maps through the 2018 amendment, and thatโ€™s exactly what we are delivering.”

Under the amendment, any redistricting maps passed during this period must receive bipartisan support, reinforcing a commitment to fair representation.

The proposed map reflects statewide voter preferences from the past 10 years, resulting in seven congressional districts that lean Democratic and eight that lean Republican. According to lawmakers, this approach aims to minimize county splits and increase district competitiveness, aligning more closely with Ohio’s political makeup.

The goal is to bring the new congressional map to a floor vote before the end of the month.

Republicans Yet to Comment

While Democratic legislators push for urgent bipartisan cooperation, House Republican leadership has remained silent on the proposed maps, stating it is too early in the process to provide feedback.

In 2024, an effort to create an independent redistricting commission via constitutional amendment failed to make it past the ballot, keeping the responsibility in lawmakers’ hands for now.

Sen. Antonio concluded:

โ€œOhioans deserve both parties to come together, act responsibly, and meet our constitutional duty before the deadline.โ€
